How do we live together into these chaotic times? This Saturday, February 24, at 9:00, our faith community will gather at the Dayspring Farmhouse for our annual Community Day.
These times look definitive. They are quite approximate.
9:00 Gather in the farmhouse for coffee (or tea) and bagels and informal sharing with one another.
9:45 Introduction to the day
10:00 Break into small groups:
- What is it about our Eighth Day community that gives us life?
- What troubles us about the times we live in?
- What is it in our common faith—tangible and intangible—that bring us together?
- What are the concrete practices that strengthen us?
- How do we support one another in this uncertain time?
- What do we need from this faith community? What are we already getting?
- And how does all of this prepare us for the political and social chaos we find ourselves in?
10:45 Share from small groups. Where do we go from here?
11:15 Walk and Talk (or sit down and talk) with one other person we don’t know as well as we’d like to.
12:00 Lunch. Bring food for yourselves and, if you can, bring a little more to share.
1:00 – Singing together.
1:15 – 2:00 Biblical psychodrama around Luke’s version of the loaves and fishes: What do we bring to community and how do we receive from it?
2:45: Come together in celebration. We’ll break up about 3:30.
Remember to bring some lunch. If you need a ride or if you can offer a ride, be in touch with David Hilfiker. If you don’t know how to get to the farmhouse, please let David know.
